ADHD as Attentional Ground State Variability: Shallow Basins, Wrong Attractors, and the Geometry of Executive Dysfunction

Rincón, D. · 2026 · Zenodo · attentional ground state variability

This is the record, not the paper. The work itself is the deposit on Zenodo, under the DOI below. What follows is its abstract, as deposited.

We apply the Displacement Framework to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), reframing the condition not as an attentional deficit but as a high-variance attractor landscape in which the attentional ground state S0_attentional is shallow for low-interest tasks and anomalously deep for high-interest tasks (hyperfocus). We formalize executive dysfunction sub-phenomena including task initiation, transition, and completion as displacement-geometric problems, derive six formal propositions, and show that time blindness follows from present-moment attractor dominance.

The neurodiversity framing emerges naturally: ADHD landscape properties confer advantage in high-variance, novelty-rich, and crisis environments where neurotypical basins underperform.
