PhronesisChronic false-urgency creating (CFUC) denotes the compulsive pattern of escalating the perceived urgency of requests, messages, and situations beyond their actual priority level. In the Phronesis dynamical framework, CFUC constitutes a wrong attractor W — a stable configuration that captures communicative behavior away from the ground state S^0 of calibrated priority honesty. This paper develops a structural account of CFUC organized around two key constructs: the Alarm-Escalation Architecture (AEA), the internal system that produces inflated urgency signals as a mechanism for importance-signaling and anxiety management, and the Proportionate-Response Foreclosure Basin (PRFB), the downstream attractor region that makes calm, priority-matched communication increasingly inaccessible.
We present nine propositions (P1–P9) characterizing the mechanics of urgency inflation, its erosive effects on credibility, the escalation ratchet that intensifies the pattern over time, and the conditions for genuine return. We argue that the return to S^0 requires not merely behavioral modulation but a willingness to be genuinely de-prioritized — to allow others to respond proportionately to actual priority.
Calibrated priority honesty, anchored in the trusted communicator identity, is the only stable basin from which authentic coordination can proceed.
