Chronic impatience — the pervasive pattern of intolerance for any gap between desired pace and actual pace — is here formally reconceptualized as a wrong attractor W_CI in the landscape of grounded presence. The healthy ground state S^0 is defined as grounded presence: the capacity to inhabit the actual pace of life, to wait without collapse, to let processes unfold at their natural rate without experienced violation.
W_CI is rigorously distinguished from appropriate urgency, healthy time-consciousness, and productive efficiency. Three interlocking mechanisms maintain the basin: the now-demand architecture (reality's pace is experienced as perpetually wrong; every queue, delay, or slow process generates D(ξ) — a displacement cost demanding immediate resolution), the frustration-acceleration loop (impatience generates frustration which generates behavioral acceleration — rushing, interrupting, cutting corners — which generates more errors and delays requiring repair, which generates more frustration), and velocity-as-identity (speed becomes an identity-level value; slowness is experienced as wrongness or disrespect, making any invitation to slow down feel like an attack on the self).
The Productivity Paradox is central: chronic impatience reliably produces the delays, errors, and relational friction it is organized to prevent — racing through processes generates mistakes requiring repair, and interpersonal impatience produces distance that slows future coordination. Nine formal propositions characterize the grounded presence ground state, the temporal-intolerance wrong attractor, the three maintenance mechanisms, the productivity paradox, developmental roots in anxious and rushed early environments, and return paths through ACT, mindfulness, and urgency-emergency distinction.
