Chronic Self-Interrupting as Completion-Anxiety Wrong Attractor: The Abandonment Architecture, Sustained-Thought Foreclosure Basin, and the Return to Calibrated Thought-Completion

This is the record, not the paper. The work itself is the deposit on Zenodo, under the DOI below. What follows is its abstract, as deposited.

We present a formal dynamical-systems analysis of chronic self-interrupting as completion-anxiety wrong attractor (CSI-CA), a pattern centered not on the avoidance of finished external products but on the foreclosure of completed thought. Where the related pattern of completion-terror (Paper \#603) concerns the archive of almost-finished creative works, CSI-CA concerns the architecture of self-interruption at the level of cognition itself: the person who interrupts their own sentences before the point arrives, who redirects trains of thought the moment they become exposing, who begins to articulate something genuine and switches to something safer before the genuine thing is said.

We define the ground state S^0 as calibrated thought-completion—the capacity to follow a train of thought through to its natural conclusion, to sustain a sentence to its point, to remain with a line of reasoning as it arrives at something true. The wrong attractor W_ CA is the sustained-thought foreclosure basin: near-completion anxiety triggers self-interruption; interruption provides relief from the vulnerability of arriving at a thought; relief reinforces interruption; the loop stabilizes.

The abandonment architecture is the internal mechanistic structure that organizes this loop: threat-detection at the approach of thought-completion, activation of a diversionary move, and the subjective experience of the diversion as spontaneous rather than defensive. Nine formal propositions characterize the basin geometry, displacement dynamics, and return conditions. We conclude with the phenomenology of calibrated thought-completion and its clinical and practical implications across domains of creative cognition, conversation, therapy, and sustained intellectual work.
