PhronesisCompulsive emotional over-sharing — the habitual, context-insensitive disclosure of internal affective states beyond what a social situation warrants — constitutes a recognizable maladaptive attractor in the displacement framework. We characterize this pattern as a wrong attractor W in state space: a locally stable configuration in which emotional pressure is discharged through outpour before containment, modulation, or calibration can occur.
Drawing on the displacement framework's core constructs — ground state S^0, displacement field D(), and accumulated displacement = D()\,dt — we develop a formal account of how the outpour cycle forecloses the development of self-regulation capacity, producing a deepening basin geometry that renders voluntary modulation increasingly costly. Nine formal propositions characterize the attractor's stability conditions, the foreclosure mechanism, and the exit dynamics toward calibrated contextual disclosure.
We analyze the outpour architecture mechanistically, describe the self-regulation foreclosure basin, and specify the return path. Clinical and social implications are discussed with reference to emotional dysregulation, impulsivity, attachment flooding, and social intimacy mismanagement. The framework offers both a diagnostic geometry and a principled intervention target.
