Compulsive Lying as Reality-Fabrication Wrong Attractor: A Displacement Framework Analysis

This paper applies the Displacement Framework to compulsive lying, analysing it as a wrong-attractor state in which fabricated narrative becomes the primary reality-interface. Unlike strategic deception, compulsive lying is displacement-driven: truth-telling carries elevated D(ξ) because it exposes the gap between actual and performed self. Each successful lie deepens the basin through lie-network growth and shame-cost escalation, making the accumulated displacement Φ monotonically increasing.

Nine formal propositions characterise the shame-displacement coupling, identity-inflation drive, lie-network accumulation, personality disorder comorbidity, and return paths through shame reduction and truth-tolerance training. Published as part of The Phronesis Issues preprint series.
