Forced Migration as Ground State Destruction and the Refugee as Displaced System: Home, Loss, and the Impossible Return

Rincón, D. · 2026 · Zenodo · ground state destruction and the refugee as displaced system

This is the record, not the paper. The work itself is the deposit on Zenodo, under the DOI below. What follows is its abstract, as deposited.

We apply the Displacement Framework to forced migration, treating home as a composite ground state S0_home across five dimensions: language, community, landscape, legal status, and memory. Forced displacement destroys the original attractor, producing permanent high-D(xi). Refugee limbo is formalized as wrong-attractor lock-in. Integration is S0_new construction — distinct from return.

Family separation adds independent displacement vectors. Trauma is accumulated Phi. Second-generation refugees displaced from their actual home face a novel form of wrongful displacement not captured by current policy frameworks.
