It is the largest sensory organ in the body by nerve ending count, a piezoelectric signaling network, a fluid communication system (the interstitium), and the physical substrate in which psychological states are stored as mechanical displacement.
We develop interfascial psychology: the formal account of how psychological events (trauma, chronic stress, emotional suppression, attunement, presence) are encoded in, transmitted through, and resolved at the interfaces of the fascial matrix. Using the displacement framework, we formalize fascial restriction as accumulated displacement cost () and identify the fascial wrong attractor: the chronically restricted pattern that the matrix has remodeled around, making return to increasingly costly.
We develop the three axes of interfascial psychology: (1) storage --- how psychological events become fascial events; (2) communication --- how the fascial matrix transmits signals between body regions and between bodies; (3) return --- the somatic interventions (structural integration, myofascial release, somatic experiencing, breathwork) that constitute the return path to. Interfascial psychology is not metaphor.
