We apply the Displacement Framework to loneliness and social isolation, formalizing social bonding as the biological ground state S0_social and loneliness as D(xi_social) — displacement from this state with measurable physiological cost. Seven formal propositions are derived covering: social bonding as biological ground state with evolutionary argument, loneliness as D(xi_social) with measurable physiological cost (elevated cortisol, inflammatory cytokines, shortened telomeres, mortality risk equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes/day per Holt-Lunstad), the wrong attractor theorem (chronic loneliness produces social threat hypervigilance making reconnection structurally harder — a classic wrong attractor topology), parasocial wrong attractor (social media and parasocial relationships with celebrities/streamers/fictional characters satisfy the gradient without true social return), Phi accumulation and mortality risk, physical touch as direct return-path activation (oxytocin, vagal tone, co-regulation), and social prescribing as landscape restoration.
