Narcissistic Personality Disorder as Fixed Wrong Attractor: Grandiosity as Displacement Denial, Empathy Failure as Return Blockade, and the Geometric Opposite of Borderline Instability

We apply the Displacement Framework to Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), establishing it as the geometric opposite of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): where BPD features shallow, unstable emotional basins, NPD features a deeply stable wrong attractor (the grandiose false self S0_false) defending against an authentic but aversive ground state S0_actual. Seven formal propositions are derived covering grandiosity as wrong-attractor depth, narcissistic injury as forced partial displacement (the injury intensity measures basin depth, not fragility), empathy failure as return blockade (predicting preserved cognitive but absent affective empathy), narcissistic supply as basin maintenance, overt/covert NPD as polarity variants of equivalent depth, abandonment crisis as supply depletion vs.

BPD's ontological dissolution, and treatment resistance as wrong-attractor depth. A three-way geometric contrast table distinguishes NPD, BPD, and PTSD. Schema therapy and transference-focused psychotherapy are analyzed as attractor-shallowing mechanisms.
