Obsessive Love as Attachment-Capture Wrong Attractor: A Displacement Framework Analysis

Rincón, D. · 2026 · Zenodo · attachment-capture wrong attractor

This is the record, not the paper. The work itself is the deposit on Zenodo, under the DOI below. What follows is its abstract, as deposited.

This paper applies the Displacement Framework to obsessive love, analysing it as a wrong-attractor state arising from attachment-capture dynamics. Using the formal apparatus of displacement cost D(ξ), accumulated displacement Φ, and basin geometry, we show how romantic fixation emerges when the attachment system is captured by a single object, elevating displacement cost for any alternative relational configuration.

Nine formal propositions characterise the capture mechanism, the role of intermittent reinforcement in deepening basin depth, and the return path toward distributed attachment. Published as part of The Phronesis Issues preprint series.
