Historical physiognomy was pseudoscience—facial structure does not predict character. But dynamic somatic signals genuinely carry real-time ground state information. We distinguish the static physiognomy error (fixed structure predicts fixed trait) from the valid observation (dynamic somatic signals track internal state in real time). Nostril flare is a real-time sympathetic nervous system read; scleral visibility correlates with autonomic arousal state; skin vascular signals carry emotional information.

We propose the vegan prosody hypothesis: lower chronic inflammation from plant-based diet reduces baseline sympathetic tone via gut-brain axis SCFA production and vagal tone enhancement, producing measurably warmer, more varied, slower prosodic baseline. Behavioral cloning is detectable by cross-modal somatic incoherence: when behavior is copied without internal state, channels (words, prosody, timing, somatic signals) desynchronize.
