Planetary Displacement: Climate Change as Accumulated Ground State Deviation, Tipping Points as Wrong Attractors, and the Thermodynamics of Return

Rincón, D. · 2026 · Zenodo

This is the record, not the paper. The work itself is the deposit on Zenodo, under the DOI below. What follows is its abstract, as deposited.

Climate change is applied the displacement framework: S0_Earth is the Holocene climatic envelope; D(xi_climate) is measured across temperature, CO2, ocean pH, ice coverage, and biodiversity. Tipping points (Arctic sea ice, Amazon, permafrost, WAIS, AMOC) are formalized as wrong attractors with self-sustaining feedbacks. A critical threshold D* (~1.5-2C warming) marks where the return gradient reverses.

Phi_Earth = accumulated planetary displacement since industrialization. Mitigation reduces dD/dt; adaptation manages current D; geoengineering attempts to shift S0. The Tipping Cascade Theorem formalizes the risk of cascading wrong attractors toward Hothouse Earth.
