The English Grammatical Displacement Compact (EGDC): A Formal Reference for Detecting Linguistic Corruption in American English

Rincón, D. · 2026 · Zenodo

This is the record, not the paper. The work itself is the deposit on Zenodo, under the DOI below. What follows is its abstract, as deposited.

This compact establishes the detection protocol for grammatical corruption in American English. Grammatical corruption is the systematic use of grammatical structure to maintain D_ling(S, T) > 0 — the gap between a stated proposition S and the true state of affairs T — while preserving the surface form of communication and its apparent informational integrity. The companion paper provides the theoretical foundation and derivation of the eight canonical corruption strategies.

This compact provides the applied detection instrument: a formal specification of those strategies as they manifest in the characteristic registers of American English, with algorithmic tests, register-specific signatures, and a sector-ranked corruption gradient. The document is designed for rapid application to real text.
