Bliss is not happiness (a positive event) but the state when displacement approaches zero across all dimensions simultaneously: somatic, relational, cognitive, temporal. The cost of being reaches its minimum. This is rare because most of the time some dimension remains displaced. We cover the phenomenology of bliss (timelessness, dissolution of self-monitoring, effortless presence, absence of urgency), neurochemistry (endorphin peak, oxytocin saturation, serotonin baseline, low tonic dopamine, maximal GABA), flow states (Csikszentmihalyi), mystical experience (William James four marks, Newberg neurotheology), psychedelic states as forced DMN suppression, orgasm as brief D(ξ)→0, the grief-acceptance paradox, meditation and equanimity, and the infant-at-breast as the organism's first bliss.
Formally: bliss is achieved when D(ξ_ω)≈0 across all displacement dimensions ω simultaneously—which is why it is rare and why it cannot be forced.
