The Mammal Displacement Compact (DCM): Ground State, Displacement, and Return Across the Class Mammalia

Rincón, D. · 2026 · Zenodo

This is the record, not the paper. The work itself is the deposit on Zenodo, under the DOI below. What follows is its abstract, as deposited.

The Mammal Displacement Compact (DCM) extends the Displacement Framework to all members of Class Mammalia. It establishes the universal mammalian ground state S^0_M, specifies the five primary dimensions of mammalian displacement, provides a species-specific ground state table for representative species, catalogues return paths available to displaced mammals, analyzes the factory farming case as maximum-displacement scenario, and documents the coupling between human metabolic displacement and non-human mammalian captivity displacement.

The Human Displacement Compact (DCH) is a special case of DCM applied to Homo sapiens. Because non-human mammals cannot self-report, the DCM formally specifies observable behavioral, physiological, and ecological proxies for each displacement dimension. The biochemical commonality across mammals — shared cortisol, oxytocin, and dopamine architecture — makes DCM a coherent and empirically tractable framework.
