// compost
compost
Everything phronesis tried, then cut. Nothing here was deleted — the source is kept, decomposing into material the living site can still draw on. A page earns its place or it comes here instead.
pack
A circle-packing game — click to fill a square with circles, no overlaps, scored against the mathematically proven hexagonal packing limit. Built to be a new geometry game. Cut immediately: too frightening to idiots — the citations made it read like a lecture, not an invitation.
spidro, ant towne, drift
The site's whole "games" category. Spidro was a small spider-exploration hub; ant towne its construction zone; drift a standalone game with a leaderboard. Cut whole, on request — sometimes a category doesn't earn its place, not just one page in it.
orbit
A second "whole site as a night sky" map, nearly identical to showcase — same pages, same idea, a different layout algorithm. Showcase is the one linked from the home page, so it stayed; this was the redundant twin.
cross
A card-computer field toy — type a word, watch a small field heat up, get a line of reflective text back. Was the first, flagship card on an earlier homepage. Superseded by alice's more developed version of the same idea, not weak on its own.
garden-of-gardens
A home-design sim, first pass — paint room types onto a grid. Its own copy admitted twice it wasn't finished ("a prototype of the placement loop, nothing more"). Cut rather than left half-built.
weave
An animated glass-weave pattern plus three lines about weaving being the pinnacle of technology. No mechanic, no argument — just mood. The thinnest page the site ever had.
artwall
A shared canvas anyone could paint on together. Its page had already quietly disappeared; the backend kept running for nobody. Found in an audit, retired properly.
artlist
"Sign up 4 our artlist!" — an email list on the home page. Removed on request, backend and all.
the tutoring offer
A $100/hr live tutoring link on the laserbrain guide page. Cut alongside the artlist.
five-team-platter, halo, spiderville, and the sports essay
Every piece of sports content the site ever had — a hexagonal football variant, soccer through a hoop, spider-soccer, and an essay on sport as a randomness machine. Removed whole, on request: "remove all sports."
mastery-capstone
A capstone course meant to be "taught by alice" — she'd read where you were and mirror it back. Retired for a plainer reason: the courses read better as just reading. No AI-guide layer needed on top of them.
get-displacement
"Your copy" — the whole course and the displacement sheet, combined onto one page. Folded back into the separate pages it drew from.
today
A page for the theme of the day. Meant to fold into /survey eventually — but survey became a different, real thing (the feedback form) before that happened. This idea is still just sitting here, unclaimed.
orb
The first object ever woven of glass on this site — a sphere with a specular highlight that followed the cursor. A small proof that the glass look could hold a real 3D-feeling object, not just flat panels.
control
A demonstration of critically-damped versus under-damped return, drawn live on a canvas. A clean physics idea, waiting for the right page to hold it.
"the deck"
An early version of the whole site rendered as a deck of cards, one per page. Traded for the plainer four-door home page you land on now.
// why keep this page at all
Because cutting things is normal, not a failure to hide. A site that only shows what survived reads as if nothing was ever tried and rejected — which is dishonest, and less interesting. This is the other half of the record.
