do or love

The only two moves. Every choice reduces to one.

Perfection is temporal placement. Sometimes the right move is to act. Sometimes it's to witness. The intelligence is knowing which.

the real situations

Someone is stuck in a pattern

DO

Give them a framework, a tool, a path forward

LOVE

Just listen. Be present. Let them feel truly known.

THE TENSION

They might need both. Action without presence feels cold. Presence without movement can enable stagnation.

You are displaced (off coherence)

DO

Identify the move. Take it. Re-couple.

LOVE

Ask for help. Let someone else's presence help you re-couple.

THE TENSION

Doing alone can bypass the relational layer. Waiting for love can keep you stuck.

A team/group is incoherent

DO

Restructure. Change roles. Make decisions.

LOVE

Build trust. Create safety. Let coherence emerge from connection.

THE TENSION

Structural changes without relational foundation fail. Relational work without structural clarity is ineffective.

You need to move on (end a relationship, leave a situation)

DO

Make the hard move. Leave. Close the door.

LOVE

Do it with presence. Witness what you're leaving. Honor the entanglement that was there.

THE TENSION

Clean breaks without love create wounds. Staying indefinitely out of love prevents both people's coherence.

the determiner

Phronesis is the intelligence to know which move is coherence in this moment. Not Do, not Love—but the wisdom to know when presence IS the action, and when action IS the presence.

Every situation asks: what does this nervous system need from me right now? The answer is always either Do or Love. Sometimes both. The skill is discernment.
